What Manufacturing Workers Want

Industry Week conducted a survey of 2,500 manufacturing workers that reveals the strategies needed to implement to create a winning workforce culture.  The results are featured in a four part series.  In Part One, they outline the reasons for undertaking the project, and the valuable insight into workforce issues they are seeing.  Part Two focuses on the number one subject of importance to the hourly manufacturing employee according to the survey:  pay rate.  Next, in Part Three, they examine why people leave a job, the dynamics of shirt differentials, health insurance coverage, and finally, the long term challenge of keeping pay rates from losing ground to rising costs of living.  Finally, Part Four summarizes the survey results and makes recommendations.
