OAI Announces DoD Proposal Preparation Essentials Seminar

The Ohio Aerospace Institute will be conducting a training seminar focused on Department of Defense (DoD) proposals for the Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) programs. DoD's SBIR/STTR budget exceeds $1.4 billion will pre-release proposal topics for the next solicitation on August 21, 2014. Proposals will be due by October 22. This seminar is intended for those seeking a better understanding of the program basics and those contemplating an SBIR/STTR proposal submission. The seminar will present essential "how-to" instruction on writing a competitive SBIR/STTR proposal that meets the unique requirements of the DoD and the expectations of its reviewers. Training will include:

  • SBIR/STTR program basics including the latest policy changes
  • Details of unique DOD and NSF requirements and how to address them
  • How to find the right solicitation to align with long-term objectives
  • Preparing the components of your proposal for maximum impact
  • How to approach commercialization planning and connect with commercial partners

BBC Entrepreneurial Training & Consulting will be conducting the seminar. Representatives from the Air Force Research Laboratory will also attend to provide specific details on working with AFRL.

OAI staff will also be on hand to answer questions about their small business services and to assist you with network connections.

Registration and networking will begin at 8:30 a.m.  The program will begin at 9:00 a.m.
