A growing theme of Manufacturing Day is that manufacturing offers many outstanding opportunities across a wide range of professions and skill levels for Canadian and American students. The Great Lakes Manufacturing Council is working with US and Canadian groups to gain mutual recognition and use of manufacturing skills certifications in both countries, to help make highly skilled workers both more mobile in their professions and more accessible to employers.
Manufacturing Day co-producers in the U.S. are: Fabricators & Manufacturers Association International (FMA), the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the Manufacturing Institute (MI) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP).
